Đậu Hà Lan rửa sạch, để ráo. Chế 500ml nước vào nồi, bắc lên bếp nấu sôi rồi cho 1/2 muỗng cà phê muối vào, khuấy tan. Sau đó cho đậu Hà Lan vào luộc chín khoảng 4 phút. Khi đậu đã chín tắt bếp, lấy ra 240ml nước luộc đậu. Gạo vo sạch, chế 240ml nước luộc đậu vào cùng rượu sake và chút muối, thả thêm một miếng tảo bẹ vào nồi cơm.
Đun gạo khi nước trong nồi sôi, gắp tảo bẹ ra, và cho đậu hà lan vào nồi cơm, đảo đều cho gạo và đậu hòa quyện với nhau. Đậy nắp và nấu cho cơm chín đều.
